Pursuing a position, where I can use my mechanical design, drafting skills ,and experience. Originally trained in mechanical drafting.  I have most recently held positions as a mechanical designer using SOLIDWORKS (4 years), AUTOCAD (5 years) I also have experience as a project cost estimator in the steel fabrication and OEM machinery manufacturing businesses.

Accomplishments

-Using SOLIDWORKS 2012 and 2015, completed the models, model assemblies and details to complete projects for the Belcan Special Equipment engineering Division, including projects for GE healthcare, GE transportation, and a  custom designed flying shear.                                                                                            

-Using SOLIDWORKS 2011, completed the design models, detail drawings and model assemblies for the redesign of a 330 MM long 300 KW water cooled plasma lamp reflector assembly used for heating the interior of large OD pipe.                                                                                                                                                    

-Using SOLIDWORKS 2006, to provide the models and simulations and the detail drawings in AUTOCAD for drive tower arrangements, and various weldments used on multi deck dryer projects. These projects included providing the FEA reports for each of the support weldments using SOLIDWORKS simulation.                                                                                                                  

-Responsible  for the initial cost estimation of a continuous anneal line (CAL) furnace line Shagang Steel China, furnace for carbon steel strip (engineering precision components and start up assistance) having an approximate value of 11 million dollars.
- Developed estimate BOM estimating tools in Microsoft Excel to shorten the time to respond to customer requests for quotations (RFQs) for large projects. -Responsible for the initial cost estimation of a continuous anneal line (CAL) furnace for carbon steel strip (engineering precision components and start up assistance) having an approximate value of 11 million dollars.

Belcan Technical Services, Solon Ohio, Mechanical Designer (contract position) SOLIDWORKS September 2015 to January 2016,  Assigned to Belcan LLC., SEED group, (Special Equipment Engineering Division),  Worked as a mechanical Designer creating  models and manufacturing detail drawings.  Projects include weldments for a flying saw, as well mechanical projects for GE Transportation, and GE healthcare. Also responsible for, producing proposal models for sales. These projects and ongoing work was done using Solid works 2012, 2014, and 2015.

Northeast Ohio Industrial Contractor Fabrication & Welding Co., May , 2015 to  August  , 2015 -  Structural Steel Detailer (contract position) SOLIDWORKS Worked on the creation of the structural steel erections plans and structural steel detail drawings for a multi level furnace platform.  This platform services a new installation of 2 furnaces used in manufacture of precision castings. This platform was detailed in accordance to AISC specifications using SOLIDWORKS. Created material takeoffs and estimates for fabrication and erection of structural steel ,hoppers, conveyors and repairs for the Cement Manufacturing industry.

Mesocoat, Inc., Euclid Ohio January 2014 to March 2015 - Mechanical Designer/Draftsman SOLIDWORKS

Assigned to work on the redesign of a water cooled 300 KW Plasma arc lamp and associated equipment used in a proprietary pipe coating process.  This includes using SOLIDWORKS for designing, modeling, creating and detail drawings as required for manufacture and assembly of completed lamp assemblies. This included drawing to ANSI Y 14.5 standards and using GD & T for machined components.  This position included working with process engineering, machine shops, shop personnel measuring components using micrometers, and calipers.

CMI Industry Americas Inc., Salem Ohio Jan 2011 to July 2013   Project Planner/Scheduler/Estimator 

Responsible for the creation of Project Estimates, schedules for engineering, Purchasing, and manufacturing of custom designed industrial horizontal and vertical furnace lines. This position includes the monitoring of projects from start to finish using accepted PMP practice.

CMI Industry Americas Inc., Salem Ohio July 2008 to 2012   Project Cost Estimator

 Responsible for creating scopes of supply, and cost estimates. Includes electric and vertical gas fired radiant tube furnace lines (HSLA) and steel strip processing equipment.  Also includes estimates for furnace rebuilds and some roller hearth horizontal furnaces.   This included the development of purchasing database along with the development of estimating tools.  Used AUTOCAD 2012 to create and modify line arrangements and details for sales proposals.

Coe Newnes McGehee Inc., Painesville Ohio Sept 2007 to July 2008   Estimator Press Group –

Responsible for cost estimates on large press rebuilds, new presses, from complete Plywood lines to parts. Costing included Heavy weldments, machining & large hydraulic systems.  Created estimates primarily from historical cost data, machine routings, and vendor quotations.

Coe Newnes McGehee Inc., Aug 2003 to Aug 2007   Mechanical Designer SOLIDWORKS & AUTOCAD - Created, design & detail drawings in Autocad and Solidworks while in the dryer group. Responsible for designs, details, of steam & Thermal Fluid heated drying equipment, for drying of ceiling tile, and plywood.
